MSD Co., in cooperation with Padideh Tarh Fan Co. has finished the studies of seismic evaluation and has prepared a seismic retrofitting plan. This building was constructed by masonry materials and severe weakness in gravity load resisting system and the lack of a reliable seismic load resisting system were some points of vulnerability of the structure. Considering the disconformity of the existing structural detailing with the standard conditions of the structures, it was assessed that implementing a new skeleton and floors is inevitable. Therefore, the approach of constructing a new structural load resisting system and transmitting the gravity loads from the existing structure to the new one and also stabilization and strengthening of the existing elements (maintaining of which were inevitable) was considered and executed.
