Strengthening of Kan Residential Complex

Structural strengthening and eliminating the columns deficiencies of the third floor of Kan 12-storey building performed the scope of this project. Construction defects and Low strength concrete were the cause of columns deficiencies. These columns were weak in which compression failure is the controlling mode. Therefore FRP systems were proposed as the desirable alternative to increase the axial compression strength of the weakened columns by providing confinement with FRP jacket.
MSD successfully implemented over 800 m2 CFRP on the weakened columns in this project.
